Simplify.

How many times have you heard or said, “I am just so busy right now, things are hectic in my life, or wow, did that month fly by!” Many of these expressions are said daily by us and to us because we live in a world where more is merrier, and it just feels ‘odd’ to NOT be busy. How can we be involved in activities we love, but still remember the important things and people in our lives?

In January’s teaching series, “Simplify Your Life,” Pastor Dan Houck takes a look at how the abundance of things to do slowly saps away any time that we may have to spend developing the most important relationship – our relationship with Jesus – and the people most important to us. We will look at a classic writing by Charles E. Hummel, “The Tyranny of the Urgent.”  Together, we will learn how to distinguish between urgent and important tasks.

Then, we will end the month thinking how we can simplify our church. Instead of a shotgun-style ministry, we will try to become laser-focused. Pastor Dan will challenge each of us to “Connect, Grow and Serve.”
