Our Last Day At The Site
God has done great things here in Nicaragua! The last day on the job was filled with mixed feelings. It was great to finish up the work, but sad to say goodbye to some of our new friends.
The welders came and started welding the beams. We finished the re-bar around the top of the building. It was a great day. We expressed out thanks to the kitchen ladies and had to say goodbye to them and the work crew. We took some Polaroid group photos to leave with them.
The childrens’ ministry went very well thanks to our awesome translator Violeta. She has been very kind when we call her for help, which is often! She read the story of David and Goliath for the children as we acted it out. They seemed to enjoy it! We did the usual routine of songs, dance and skit followed by a craft. After the craft time we handed out match box cars to the boys and beanie babies to the girls. It was great to see their smiles!
Tonight we are headed back to the church for our farewell service. It will be a time of mixed feelings. We have made many friends, and it will be difficult to leave them.
Tomorrow we are headed out for some site seeing. We are planning to get up very early and travel to a rain forest. We are also planning to go see Marshall’s son’s coffee farm and then go to market to do some shopping.
Thanks for all your prayers and blog comments. You have been a great support system!
Adios!

Thank you for such a wonderful job, the work you did on the church pales in comparison to the hearts that you have warmed. The children’s faces are just priceless, they shine so brightly and you were the reason. Thank you for representing christians in such an honoring and loving way, and I will be praying for a safe day tomorrow and safe travel home. I love you all.
Hope you had a great time at the coffee plantation today. Great to see all of the work that was accomplished and to see and hear about all of the relationships that have been formed! Be safe, we continue to pray for the team as you wrap up your time in Nicaragua.
