We have arrived!

We have arrived safely in Nicaragua!  We were encouraged by all those who showed up to pray for us in Lampeter around midnight on Friday night before we left!  It was a very meaningful time for the team!

After a safe drive to the Philly airport we had to wait until 3:30 for the check in desk to open!  We boarded our flight and headed for Texas around 5:45AM!  We arrived on time and then quickly found our flight to Managua.  We were greeted in Managua by Marshall’s son, daughter-in-law and his new 5 week old grandson!  We loaded up our luggage in and on top of the van, and squished ourselves in.  After a very warm drive, we arrived at The Hotel El Raizon!

We then took a little time to find our rooms and change cloths before heading off to a lake near Granada. We were greeted eagerly by the locals who wanted to sell us things.  We took a ride on a tour boat on the lake.  There are 365 islands on the lake.  Many wealthy people buy an island and build a nice home on it.  We pulled up to a small island and we were entertained by monkeys!  One jumped on our boat briefly.

We returned to the hotel, and got cleaned up. We just finished a great meal of  beef, potatoes, rice and jalapeno salsa! We are getting ready for devotions and then I think we are going to call it a day.  A very LONG day. We have been up for over 36 hours!

Tomorrow we are headed to Piedra Menuda for church in the morning, then we are off to climb a volcano!  We will be going to meet our friends in Ticuantepe tomorrow evening for a welcoming service!

Please keep us in your prayers!
