Wonderful Wednesday!
Hey! God has been working in Nicaragua! Thanks for your continued prayers and comments. We really enjoy reading them. They are a great source of encouragement!
Today was another marvelous day. We started out as usual with breakfast and then piling into the van. We got busy at the work-site right away. We started cleaning and painting the steel ceiling beams. They have chosen a lovely shade of red. If you look closely at some of the pictures you will see both Dan and Marshall have paint on them. However, neither one of them got the paint on them by actually painting
The church has some professional block layers at the site. We are assisting them by carrying the block to them, and making the cement. The walls are getting higher!
The childrens’ ministry went very well. We had around 50 children. The time started with some singing and shaking our bean filled eggs, followed by Father Abraham, and then dancing with the ribbons. We decided to teach them a song in English, and chose Lord of Lords because it had the least amount of different words. Violeta taught them the words and we demonstrated the motions. They seemed to enjoy it! We then had them play the game where you tie balloons around your ankle and try to keep yours from breaking while trying to break others. The mothers were also invited to join in and they seemed to enjoy it as well. Craft time was a bit hectic. We made puppets using paper bags. They all left with smiles!
On the way back to the hotel, Marshall surprised us with a stop at a zoo. It had lots of animals like jaguars, monkeys, birds, and a room with butterflies and hummingbirds
We enjoyed another delicious meal and then had a loud surprise. Julie and Amy have birthdays coming up and a mariakchi band came to play for them. It was a fun surprise!
Tomorrow we are planning to have a big day with the childrens ministry. We are expecting more children. Please pray that it will be a good experience for the children. Especially for those who do not attend the church. We will be heading out to town after supper tomorrow night to see some sights!
Please continue to pray for our brothers and sisters in Nicaragua. Continue prayer for our health and safety! Keep those comments coming!
Adios!
