The “Five Gs” of G*Force
The "Five Gs" are markers or guides for your spiritual journey. They are designed to help take the guesswork out of what it really means to be a fully devoted follower of Christ—to live like Jesus would if he were in your place. In personal devotions and weekly small group gatherings you’ll learn about:
1. Grace: Move beyond religious rules and regulations and learn how to live in God’s grace -- then learn how to share this grace with others.
2. Growth: Discover how spiritual practices can bring you closer to the heart of God.

3. Groups: Experience an authentic community where you will learn what it means to know and be known -- to have real and intimate friendships throughout your life.

4. Gifts: Identify your spiritual gifts and dedicate them to serving God -- then watch how God uses your gifts to impact the world in amazing ways
5. Good Stewardship: Trust God with all your resources and discover what it means to live with freedom and generosity.
GOSPEL JOURNEY
Beginning in the fall, we will be journeying alongside seven strangers as they learn about the Bible together and doing some wild and crazy things. I am excited because . . . [more]

So What's G*Force all About?

Ever feel tired of trying really hard to be a Christian? Being a Christ-follower isn’t about trying really hard; it’s about training to be more like Jesus so he can transform you into the person he made you to be. At G-Force you will learn how!

We meet each Monday at 7 p.m. at several of our teen's homes. The night includes time for building friendships, fun activities, a relevant message from God's Word and discussion that allows you to interact with truth in a loving and caring environment. We do other cool things during the month, as well.

Summer is here, and we’re switching things around a little…
Dear G*force Parents and Teens –
Like me, I’m sure your summer is packed with things to do already, and I don’t want youth group to be an added stress to your list of things to think about. The schedule for G*force Youth was packed during the winter and spring months. This summer the leaders and I decided that the summer months should be a time where we can breathe easy with fun activities monthly and no weekly meeting. Of course that doesn’t mean we won’t keep the teens accountable to their Bible reading!

At the start of June, we’ll have monthly A-Mazing Mondays! See our calendar for the list of events! Activities will include an A-Mazing RACE, digital camera scavenger hunt, mini-golf, pool parties, you get the idea! We’ll also throw in some spontaneous events where we’ll call everyone up to go play laser tag, etc. This means some months we might meet more than once, but one night it could be on a Thursday.

We hope that you are as thrilled about this time to reflect on the past year and get excited for the fall! We will begin (again) our GOSPEL Journey Series in the fall, so those that have missed the first two can watch it from the beginning. Feel free to contact me with questions at heatherhershey@msn.com.

Sincerely,
Heather L. Hershey

MEET THE YOUTH DIRECTOR
Heather Hershey (in photo at right with her family) is our youth director. Beginning with G*force Youth Ministry in May 2007, she previously worked with the Xtreme Youth at Pequea Church, serving as a volunteer for seven years. She worked under The Table’s Pastor Dan for five years when he was with Pequea. The last two years at Pequea was spent as the Senior High Youth Director overseeing 10 volunteers, planning events and teaching bible studies. Heather's vision for G*force Youth Ministry is one where teens grow spiritually in the word and their faith in an environment that is welcoming and fun. She hopes for teens to grow so deep in their faith before graduating from high school that they'll be able to defend it in every circumstance of life.

Heather graduated from Elizabethtown College with a degree in communications in 2002 and then worked with the College as the Assistant Director of College Relations until her first child was born. At that point she became a stay-at-home mom. Heather and her husband Curt (a g*force youth volunteer) have a three-year-old daughter Alyssa and are expecting their second child in January 2009. When not spending time with the youth, their family enjoys being outdoors, going out to eat, watching Philadelphia sports, playing games and just being together.

Thank you to everyone who helped with the auction this year! Our youth group was able to bring in a little over $6500. Thank you all who showed up to bid as well! Without the helpers and bidders, we wouldn't be able to go on our missions trip this year. This year we're headed to the Gulf Coast to help with hurricane relief!

Look for more fundraisers this summer as well as our first-ever Chicken BBQ on October 3.
